Jimmy Donal "Jimbo" Wales is the founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization corporation that operates the free online encyclopedia, Wikipedia[1], and several other Wiki projects. He is also founder of the for-profit company Wikia, Inc., which is legally unrelated to Wikimedia. (Note: The Whats New Media Wiki is a Wikia product)

In May 2006, Wales was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people
